Roark, a part of Archipelago Companies, sought to benefit from the broader organization's technology and initiatives, but maintain its distinct brand essence and a requirement for brand autonomy. SLTWTR was engaged by Roark and Archipelago to fold Roark into the Archipelago multi-brand environment, and to re-envision the outward image of the brand's ecommerce presence.
With organizational efficiencies and brand-level autonomy and distinction as the priority, SLTWTR implemented a multi-brand architecture and re-envisioned the Roark website with a fresh redesign.
Extraordinary Content-Authoring Flexibility
Roark's requirement for flexibility in content authoring among its regions, campaigns, and customer segments required a level of flexibility uncommon to Shopify, and nearly impossible on any other commerce platform. SLTWTR broke the mold of the standard set of templates and sections, and produced a vastly modular, block-based authoring experience that puts the brand in control, and allows for both distinct layouts and conditional feature inclusion.
Inspired by Exploration
SLTWTR produced a fresh user experience and brand manifestation for Roark as part of the implementation. Trend-setting user interface in navigation, layouts, and commerce essentials advanced Roark beyond the mapped territory of ecommerce. By implementing a design system and highly modular framework, the Roark team is now empowered with the ability to evolve and explore new layouts and features at their own adventurous pace.
Focus on the Consumer, Everywhere
A primary agenda of the project was to unify consumer touchpoints with the brand, where all interactions, both transactional and non-transactional, leave meaningful marks and build a lasting relationship. Implementation of POS at all Roark brick & mortar locations with deep integration to ERP and ecommerce allowed for best-in-class consumer experiences across channels, including buy online, pick up in store and buy in store, ship to customer.
